Memphis, TN – On July 14, 2017, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) awarded grants to seven nonprofit organizations outside of Shelby County, Tennessee.
The grants were awarded by CCWTN’s Jackson Deanery Development Committee (JDDC) with funds earmarked to support ecumenical, non-profit organizations outside of the Memphis area. Funds are generated from the annual Catholic Campaign for Human Development collection held every November by the 47 parishes of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis, which includes all of the 21 counties west of the Tennessee River. Rev. John Hourican, Interim President and CEO of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee said that “the Catholic community is happy to support the many good works these various organizations are a part of throughout West Tennessee.
This year’s grantees are:
- Agape House Pregnancy Care Center – Weakly County
- FYI! Clinic – Benton County
- Hardin County Jesus Cares – Hardin County
- LifeBeat Pregnancy Center – Lake County
- Project Outreach – Fayette County
- Regional Interfaith Association – Madison County
- WE CARE Ministries – Weakly County
