The Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, D.D., Bishop of Memphis in Tennessee, has been visiting parishes since February to confer the sacrament of Confirmation on students who elect to be confirmed. Students have completed a minimum of nine months training in Catholic teaching prior to seeking Confirmation. Each student is instructed in the meaning of the sacrament - the reception of the gift of the Holy Spirit.
- On Friday, Feb. 23, Bishop Holley confirmed nine youth at Holy Cross, Paris.
- On Sunday, March 4, Bishop Holley confirmed eight youth at St. Peter Catholic Church, Memphis.
- On Sunday, April 8, Bishop Holley confirmed two youth at St. Augustine, Memphis.
- On Friday, April 13, Bishop Holley confirmed three youth at St. Alphonsus, Covington.
Bishop Holley will continue visiting parishes through April and May to confer Confirmation on youth who seek a fuller relationship with God.
