ICCS Upper School Students Take Top Honors in Civil Rights Art Competition

Three Immaculate Conception Cathedral School upper school AP art students were recognized for their civil rights-themed artwork at the Memphis Teach-In Conference held at the National Civil Rights Museum on Friday, Sept. 28. Taking the top three awards in the contest open to all Memphis high school students were Ashley Webster '19, first place; Maggie Davis '19, second place; and Trinity West '18, third place.

The conference,"Where Do We Go From Here? : Past, Present, and Future Roles of the Church in the Civil Rights Movement," was sponsored by MCUTS in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's assassination.
