St. Benedict at Auburndale held its annual Honor Society by department inductions in the second semester of the school following the solemnity of the Holy Mass reminding the students of their diligence and fortitude it takes for students to achieve this milestone in their high school careers.
St. Benedict is proud to offer 11 departmental Honor Societies, including the National Honor Society (induction held in the fall) from which students may choose. In addition to the National Honor Society, students may be tapped for membership in the Art Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Phi (German Honor Society), French Honor Society (La Societe Honorairé de Français), National English Honor Society, National Junior Classical League (Latin), Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), Quill & Scroll Honor Society (Journalism), Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society (La Sociedad Honoraria Hispᾴnica) and the International Thespian Honor Society.
More than 275 SBA students are members of these distinguished societies.
Superintendent Janet Donato was also honored during the event in celebration of her birthday. She has been a Catholic educator for the Memphis Diocese since 1979.
