Seven SBA Athletes sign on National Signing Day

FIRST WOMEN'S WATER POLO PLAYER IN TENNESSEE SIGNS

On April 12, Spring Signing Day, seven St. Benedict at Auburndale (SBA) High School seniors committed to continuing their athletic careers at the college level. Presiding over the event was SBA Athletic Director Caleb Marcum, who introduced each athlete and their coach. The ceremony, held in the school’s gym, recognized the following:

Callie Stiles (of Eads) signing with Birmingham Southern College, Div III, Volleyball

After having received seven offers from other colleges, Callie signed a Letter of Intent to Birmingham Southern College. She started playing volleyball in the third grade and began club ball in the seventh grade. She was a 3-year varsity starter at SBA and was captain senior year. She played for Southern Storm Volleyball and Memphis Metro volleyball competitively. Her honors include: Team MVP 2016, 3x All-Metro,3x 1st team All-Region, 2017 Team Offensive player of the year.

Finn Mullen (of Memphis) signing with Rhodes College, Div III, Tennis

Finn has been involved with tennis since she was 7 years old when she started taking lessons. She played in Junior Tennis Tournaments until sophomore year. A member of the SBA varsity team for three years, playing #1 & #3.

Allison Hyatt (of Arlington) signing with Harding University, Div II, Softball

Allison has played varsity softball for the past four years at Saint Benedict. She has been a part of a team that has won the region and placed third in the state tournament for three consecutive years. She was Rookie of the year freshman year. Allison has also played travel ball for 10 years, most recently for the Lady Jaxx and Germantown Red Devils.

Erin Haff (of Memphis) signing with McKendree University, Div II, Water Polo

FIRST GIRL IN THE STATE TO SIGN WITH A COLLEGE FOR WATER POLO

Erin has played water polo for the entirety of her high school career. She has been on the SBA varsity water polo team since her freshman year, and was awarded a state ring with her fellow teammates when they won the state championship in 2015. In her sophomore year, she was nominated as a candidate for the Tennessee State B team, an honor only given to the most effective players during the water polo season. In the summer of 2017, she had the honor of being a member of the first official all-girls water polo team in the state of Tennessee.

Mariah Clemons (of Olive Branch) signing with University of Illinois-Chicago, Div I - Swimming

Mariah has been swimming at SBA for two years and swimming with the Memphis Tigers Swim Team for nine years.

Myles Bonner (of Memphis) signing with Barton College, Div II - Swimming

Miles has been a member of the SBA swim team for four years and the Memphis Tiger Swim Team for six years.

Not able to be present for the signing ceremony was Emma-Rae Adams (of Memphis), signing with Tennessee Wesleyan University, NAIA, Volleyball.
