St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School Celebrates the Feast Day of its Patron Saint

Cordova, Tennessee October 10, 2018 Each year on October 4th, St. Francis of Assisi School celebrates the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. In remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures, Reverend Carol Hood administered a “Blessing of the Animals” following an all-school Mass. Members of the community were invited to bring their pets to St. Francis of Assisi Church for the special blessing. In addition to dogs, cats and rabbits, members of the Memphis Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit and K-9 Unit were on hand to receive the blessing.

In addition to the Blessing of the Animals, teachers and students celebrated the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi with prayer, service projects to benefit members of our community who are in need along with some fun and games.
