It was on May 13, 1917 that the apparition of Mary appeared to three shepherds at Fatima, Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia. This year marks the centennial celebration and for that commemoration Pope Francis will journey to Fatima and canonize the three individuals.
A commemorative van carrying a statue of Our Lady stopped at St. Mary's, Jackson on May 2. The Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, D.D., celebrated Mass and paid honor and respect to Our Heavenly Mother.
