The Diocese of Memphis and Catholic Charities welcome a new Executive Director

Memphis, TN – His Excellency, Bishop Martin D. Holley, D.D. today announced the appointment of a new Executive Director of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee.

Richard C. “Dick” Hackett joins Catholic Charities of West Tennessee as the new Executive Director. Mr. Hackett has long been involved in the non-profit sector in Memphis. He also served as the Mayor of Memphis. Dick will be responsible for operation and management of the many programs offered by Catholic Charities of West Tennessee, overseeing the implementation of programs, and leading the staff as the social services arm of the Catholic Diocese of Memphis.

Dick and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 36 years and have three children and four grandchildren. They are members of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the Midtown area of Memphis.

On the appointment at Catholic Charities, Dick said, “I am so grateful to have been appointed by His Excellency Bishop Holley and I am excited and blessed to be a part of the ministry of our Catholic Church of West Tennessee.”

“I am very pleased that Richard Hackett has accepted the position of Executive Director of Catholic Charities in Memphis, Tennessee. I am looking forward to working with him to further the new evangelization.”
