Christian Brothers High School was well-represented at the Brothers of the Christian Schools’ Midwest District Days and Assembly July 20-22 at Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. Three postulants with connections to CBHS received the habit of the Brothers on July 22 and began the next stage of formation as a Brother - the Novitiate, a year-long period of discernment in Chicago, the location of the national novitiate of the Brothers.
Brother Matthew Kotek had taught Spanish at CBHS since February of 2016. Brother David Poos, FSC, CBHS English teacher, was his sponsor. Another CBHS-connected postulant going to the novitiate is Brother Dylan Perry, CBHS ’06 and twin of CBHS faculty member Dustin Perry. Brother Dylan taught at the San Miguel School in Tulsa, Okla., and was a member of the Brothers’ community at Bishop Kelley High School. A third CBHS-connected postulant moving to the novitiate community in August is Brother Mark Engelmeyer, who taught at CBHS in 2013-14. Brother Joel McGraw, FSC was his sponsor.
May all our community pray for their vocations and for young men from CBHS to consider seriously for themselves the holy vocation of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
