St. Thérèse of Lisieux was born in Alencon, France in 1873. From an early age she had a great desire to enter the convent and devote her life to God. At age 15, she traveled to the Vatican, to personally petition the Pope for permission to be allowed to enter the Convent at this unusually early age.
