A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 29 for Juan “Jo” Yohanek, 89, at St. Ann Catholic Church by Reverend Ernie DeBlasio. Burial was at South Woods Cemetery. Survivors include spouse, George Yohanek; daughters, Cynthia Seymour, Debra O’Brien and Pamela Bubeck; sons, Al Adams, Terry Adams, Gregory Adams and Lawrence Yohanek; sisters, Linda Tharp and Mary Smith; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

William Smith

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 24 for William “Bill” Smith, 94, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Reverend Johnnie Smith. Burial was at Memphis Memorial Gardens. Survivors include Margaret “Peggy” Bryant and Anne Byrum; son, Thomas “Smitty” Smith; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Babette Emery Ehemann

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 22 for Babette Emery Ehemann,97, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Msgr. John B. McArthur. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include family members: Rosalen Cline, Babette Lombardo, Tina Morris, John Morris Jr. and Lorna Benson. 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Johanna H. Hess

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 17 for Johanna H. Hess, 105, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Reverend Msgr. Peter Buchignani. Burial was at Memphis Memorial Gardens. Survivors include son, Harry “Hank” Hess.

George Robert Douglas

A funeral home service was held on September 15 for George Robert Douglas, 83, at Memorial Park Funeral Home by Reverend Msgr. John B. McArthur. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include Spouse, Marguerite James Douglas; daughters, Alice D. Pian and Marguerite D. Heindel; sons, George Douglas, David Douglas and Paul Douglas; 11 grandchildren; Sister in Law, Julia James.

Mary Susan Clem Nunnery

Henry Welch

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on September 5 for Henry “Harry” Welch, 94, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Dennis Schenkel. Burial was at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Veronica Nicla; sons, James Welch and Thomas Welch; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tally A. Poppelreiter

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 31 for Tally A. Poppelreiter, 99, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Carlos Donato. Burial was at Forest Hill East Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Patty Rottgering, Mary Brunette and 1 grandchild.

Barbara Cantrell McAlpin

A funeral home service is to be held August 24 for Barbara Cantrell McAlpin, 80, at Memorial Park Funeral Home by Reverend Jolly Sebastian. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include spouse, Jim McAlpin; daughters, Bitsy Quinn, Shawn Demos and Mimi Foster; sons, Chuck Schaffler and Jack Schaffler; brother, William A. Mary Margaret Kallaher Singleton

Donald John Dowling, Jr.

Frances Wunderlich

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 13 for Frances “Teasie” Wunderlich, 94, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Msgr. John B. McArthur. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Glo Wunderlich Trigg and Sally Wunderlich Treadwell; sons, Walter G. Wunderlich, Jr. and Lawrence B. Wunderlich; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Aggie Turley.

Alice Mae Thorton

Survivors include daughters, Linda J. Bradley and Patricia A. Novak; sister, Doris DeSantis; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Emilio Dionisio

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 8 for Emilio Dionisio , 79, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church by Reverend Msgr. Albert Kirk with concelebrant Reverend Carlos Donato. Burial was held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include spouse, Diana Dionisio; daughter, Graziella Barton; son, Cailos Dionisio; sister, Gabry Bonini; brothers, John Dionisio and Umberto Dionisio and 2 grandchildren.

Charlotte W. Peterson

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 3 for Charlotte W. Peterson, 91, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend William F. Burke. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include sons, Eric Peterson, David Peterson and Tim Peterson; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Eddie Karl Spragg

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on August 1 for Eddie Karl Spragg, 86, at Resurrection Catholic Church by Reverend Msgr. Peter P. Buchignani with concelebrants Reverend James J. Martell, Reverend William F. Burke and Reverend Benjamin P. Bradshaw. Burial was at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Survivors include spouse, Anita Burns Spragg; sons, Steven Karl Spragg and Kevin Spragg; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Mr. Spragg served proudly in the US Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He earned a Bronze Star and retired as Master Sergeant. Mr. Spragg facilitated the Resurrection Church golf league.

Louis Anthony Sampson

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 31 for Louis Anthony Sampson, 90, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Msgr. John B. McArthur. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Maureen Miller, Eileen Porter, Kathleen Sampson and Megan Sampson.

Charles David Drew, Sr.

A funeral home service was held July 27 for Charles David Drew, Sr., 82, at Memphis Funeral Home by Reverend James J. Martell. Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include spouse, Earldine Drew; daughter, Margaret Drew; son, Charles David Drew, Jr.; sisters, Mary Jo and Carolyn;4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Claire O’Callahan Johnson

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 26 for Claire O’Callahan Johnson, 87, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church by Reverend Augustine DeArmond, OP with concelebrants, Reverend James Pugh and Deacon Eddie Ramsey. Burial was held at Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Katie Taylor; sons, Warren Johnson and Mark Johnson; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Vita Bomarito Gattuso

A funeral home service was held on July 20 for Vita Bomarito Gattuso, 96, at Holy Rosary Church by Reverend James J. Martell. Concelebrated by Reverend Russell Harbaugh, Reverend Richard Cortese, and Reverend Ruben Villalon-Rivera and assisted by Deacon Richmond Quinn. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Camille Black; Sons, Paul & Frankie Gattuso; 2 nephews, Sammy and Michael Bomarito.

Virginia Clark Troy

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 18 for Virginia Clark Troy, 90, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Cain Galicia-Ramirez. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Jaime Carnation and Sally Davis; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Theresa AuBuchon Hamblen

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 17 for Theresa AuBuchon Hamblen, 89, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church by Reverend Johnnie Smith. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Survivors include daughters, Ruth and Mary Hamblen; sons, Scott and Michael Hamblen; brother, Jerry AuBuchon; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Jean Marie Heil

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 16 for Jean Marie Heil, 83, at St. Louis Catholic Church by Reverend Ruben Villalon-Rivera. Burial was at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Orlando Calderon Diaz

A funeral home service was held on July 11 for Orlando Calderon Diaz, 15, at High Point Funeral Home by Reverend Edward Fisher. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery. Survivors include sister, Marely Calderon.

Leonard Michael Petitte

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 10 for Leonard Michael Petitte, 81, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Reverend Johnnie Smith with concelebrant Reverend Carl Gregorich and assisted by Deacon Bill Davis.
