A study of the history of the liturgical life of the Church and  introduction to the basic resources, tools and method of liturgical studies. A wonderful way to learn more about the Mass and why we pray  together the way we do.

Sacristan Training - Level I    (6 hrs)

This course examines the spirituality of working behind the scenes as a parish sacristan.  Includes instruction on the preparation of vessels, vestments and liturgical books for the celebration of the Sunday liturgy.

This course offers an introduction to the origin and role of the extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.  In addition to a basic theology of the Eucharist as sacrifice and covenant meal, the practicalities of administering Holy Communion are examined.  Completion of this course entails certification by the diocese as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

Pastor’s Permission Required.

The course fees are as follows unless previously stated: there is No Charge for Liturgical Foundations or any Level I courses.

All other courses are $4 per class hour for single registrant (e.g. $4 per hour x 6 hours = $24).

$3 per class hour for each registrant when two or more register for the same class from the same parish.

Required texts may be ordered through the Institute, if noted on the registration form.
