De La Salle Elementary at Blessed Sacrament Parish is a collaboration between the Catholic Diocese of Memphis and the Christian Brothers. Opened in 2000 with Kindergarten, De La Salle at Blessed Sacrament has added a grade each year.

The school is located at the corner of Merton and Hale, a couple of blocks north of Poplar and east of East Parkway and primarily serves the midtown area, but is very accessible since the campus is just south of Sam Cooper.

Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), administered by the Christian Brothers, and EDUCATING in their honored tradition.  That tradition begun over 300 years ago by Saint John Baptist de La Salle, Patron Saint of all teachers and founder of the Christian Brothers, insists that teaching is a ministry for which God has chosen our teachers.

OUR MISSION:   As a Catholic Jubilee School in the tradition of the Christian Brothers, we strive to provide a strong scholastic, religious, and practical education in a caring, nurturing, and loving environment that will liberate and empower students spiritually, academically, socially, physically, and emotionally.

INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION is the key to student success at De La Salle. The school attracts many volunteers from the community especially from Christian Brothers University, Christian Brothers High School, St. Agnes Academy, and St. Louis Parish providing a pool of dedicated volunteers to work with children one-on-one. The school additionally makes use of innovative computer programs to assess and track math ability, reading level, and language development.

Tuition at De La Salle, as with all the Jubilee Schools, is based on family income. Parents are encouraged to apply for SCHOLARSHIP assistance through the Jubilee Schools Scholarship Fund. De La Salle offers arrangements for before and after school care, and participates in the USDA School Lunch Program.

Our complete CURRICULUM includes daily religion instruction and a special emphasis on the basic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic.  The basics are rounded out with PE, technology, science, and social studies.

Maintaining an ethnically diverse population while serving those most in need is the goal of De La Salle. Everything is done to enable parents to send their children to the school. No child is denied the opportunity to receive a high quality education because of financial need.

Class sizes range from 20 to 24 students.

"We strive to combine the best traditions in education with the latest innovations in technology to create an environment where student are excited to come to school and excel in their studies." (Brother Mark Snodgrass, FSC, Principal)
