St. Patrick has a long history of educating children in the downtown area.  The school closed as a result of a shifting Catholic population in this area.  But now, is what is probably a modern miracle, St. Patrick Catholic School reopened across the street from the FedEx Forum as a result of a large anonymous donation.  In the fall of 2003 St. Patrick opened as the seventh Jubilee School and the only Jubilee School which was built from the ground up.  St. Patrick started with 3K, 4K, and Kindergarten and adds a grade each year until it has reached the sixth grade.

St. Patrick is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  The school follows the curriculum guidelines set by the Catholic Schools Office for elementary schools.  The school provides numerous field trips to broaden student’s education and awareness of what is happening around the city.  The school has monthly events for parents to participate in such as an Open House, Halloween Cookout, Thankgiving dinner, Christmas program, Black History Celebration, and many more.  The school feels that parent participation is one of the most important parts of their child’s education process.

St. Patrick, being a Jubilee School, bases each student’s tuition on a sliding a sliding scale based on family income.  The school also cooperates with the Tennessee Department of Human Services childcare voucher program which pays for 3 and 4K tuition and before and after school care programs.  The school also participates in the federal government’s free and reduced lunch program.  To help parents with their tuition we have the Parking for Tuition Program.  This program allows parents to park cars in our parking lots for events taking place at the FedEx Forum.  The money earned is divided by the number of families volunteering to help and goes directly to these families tuition account.

Mission Statement:

The mission of St. Patrick Catholic School is to educate the whole child: spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.  We strive to facilitate the highest level of learning for all students, while providing them with a spiritual and cultural foundation which gives them a respect and appreciation for diversity in our community.

Vision Statement:

The first achievement desired at St. Patrick Catholic School is to produce productive and spiritually grounded youth who will be independent thinking, life-long learners who will bring Christian values into our global society.  The next achievement desired at St. Patrick Catholic School is to continue to open a new grade each year until we reach the sixth grade.  Another achievement desired is to keep increasing our standardized test scores each year.  Each year we want to increase parent involvement until we reach one hundred percent.  Each year as we increase the number of grades, we will increase our technology offered to our students.

Our main Belief Statement out of 10 is as follows:

Children who are taught the spiritual truth of God and cultural diversity will bring justice into our world.  Cultural diversity is used to increase student’s knowledge of social justice in a devise society.
