Holy Spirit at work in Savannah

Fr. Francis Chiawa with Deacons Ed Kutz and Walt Bolton assisting celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit in Savannah, TN on Saturday, May 11. The Eucharistic celebration contained elements of both Ascension and Pentecost Feasts. Fr. Francis began his homily with ‘Rivers of Living Water Will Flow From Within You” explaining that Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit whom the Church would receive. “Wait until you are clothed from on high.” This “waiting” demands active attentiveness in prayer, living the Sacramental Life, seeking the things from above, and sharing God’s love with those in need. Around 50 people from the Jackson Deanery, along with a person from Australia, came to be blessed and empowered. Anointing of the sick followed the Eucharistic Celebration with the two Deacons and their teams praying with those who wanted individual prayer. A potluck lunch and social time concluded this grace-filled event. Attendees from the Memphis Deanery expressed great gratitude for the hospitality shown.
