Nominations for Student Peace Award Being Accepted
Christian Brothers University invites nominations for the 2008 Gerard A. Vanderhaar Student Peace Award. This award is for currently enrolled students at Memphis area institutions of higher education, and is given in conjunction with the annual Gerard A. Vanderhaar Symposium, to be held April 10, 2008. The recipient is honored at the Symposium, and will be given a $500 award. Nominations may come from faculty, staff, or administrators at Memphis area institutions of higher education.
Nominees for the award should meet the following criteria: Outstanding involvement in peace and justice work, which could include significant participation in an organization for peace and justice, significant participation in a nonviolent campaign/movement for peace and justice, and/or service which furthers peace and justice in the world; Enrollment as a full-time student at the undergraduate or graduate level at a Memphis area institution of higher education; Academic excellence, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0; Award will be subject to verification of aforementioned criteria.
In the letter of nomination, please detail how the student satisfies the aforementioned criteria.

CBU Gallery to Feature MACA
The Beverly & Sam Ross Gallery at Christian Brothers University (CBU) is proud to feature the works of the Memphis Association of Craft Artists (MACA) February 29 _ April 3. The MACA will be showing various types of crafts from the beginner to the most accomplished.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, February 29 in the gallery on the lower level of Plough Memorial Library, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The MACA is the local chapter of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists, a non-profit statewide organization dedicated to the promotion and the preservation of fine craft in Tennessee. MCAC covers Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale, and Tipton counties. Membership is open to all artisans (except painters).
Members have the opportunity to participate in meetings, workshops, exhibitions and sales events, and community activities.
Hours at the Beverly & Sam Ross Gallery are Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 11 p.m.; Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, Noon - 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 2-11 p.m. Hours may vary due to University schedules. Call 901-321-3243 to verify, or visit the Web site at www.cbu.edu/library/gallery.
