Easter Parade Trivia Night Set for March 29

Our Lady of Sorrows, located at 3700 Thomas St. in Memphis will host a Trivia Night on Saturday, March 29. The theme for the evening is Easter Parade. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the trivia competition beginning at 7:30 p.m. All participants are encouraged to wear Easter bonnets for the parade. There will be a prize awarded to the woman and the man who have the best Easter bonnets.

Brother Ignatius Brown, F.S.C., of Christian Brother University will be the Master of Ceremonies, conducting ten rounds of ten questions. Each round of questions will have a different theme, such as sports, movies, television and more.

The team with the most correct answers at the end of the evening will be declared the winner. Each member of the winning team will receive a gift basket containing a dozen ravioli and gravy made by the Altar Guild and Knights of Columbus Council at OLS, a bottle of wine, and other items to make the dinner complete. Members of the second place team will receive a dozen ravioli and gravy.

More than 50 door prizes will be given away between the rounds of competition. There will also be at least one Heads or Tails game played with prizes going to the winners.

Teams are encouraged to bring a dinner of their choice to enjoy before the competition begins. Beverages and light snacks will be available through the evening.

Registration is now ongoing for teams and individuals. Individuals registrants will be teamed with others without teams or added to teams that need additional players to round out the teams of six members.

Pre-registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Registration forms can be printed from the OLS website at ourladyofsorrowschurch.org or by calling Carolyn at 901-353-1530.

All proceeds benefit Our Lady of Sorrows Parish School.

Day of Reflection Held for Those with Special Needs

A day of reflection was held for people with special needs on Febraury 16 at the Church of the Holy Spirit. 16 people were in attendance for the day which featured the theme A Big Hunk of Love.The day included different experiential activities. Father Eric Peterson spoke on the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Crowning with thorns. The participants were in awe of the crown with thorns brought in by volunteer Mary Ann Vlahos. Attendees also had the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The retreat is sponsored by the Diocesan Committee for People with Special needs and coordinated by committee member Nicole Johnson. Deanna Long, youth ministry director of St. Mary Church, and the St. mary youth group assisted with all the different activities.

Holy Rosary Event to Feature New Orleans Fun

The Holy Rosary School Mothers' Club 33rd Annual Spring Fashion Show and Silent Auction is planned for Saturday, April 26 beginning at 6 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

The evening, with the theme, All Jazzed Up Down in the Quarter, will feature fashions from Stein Mart. The night will include New Orleans fun, great food, fashion and fellowship.

Tickets include a delicious Cajun-style dinner provided by Coletta's. The evening will also include entertainment provided by The Reflections, beverages and more.

Sponsor tables are also available for a limited time and include special VIP treatment, ten admission tickets & goodie bags, three bottles of wine, a personal waiter for the evening, and a full page ad in the event program.
