LENTEN OBSERVANCES
All Catholics are called to abstain from meat on the Fridays of Lent. Likewise, we are obliged to fast and abstain from meat on Good Friday. The obligation is binding on all Catholics 14 years of age or older. The obligation to fast, limiting oneself to but one full meal and two lighter meals, is binding on all Catholics from age 18-59. Of course, illness releases one from these obligations. |
