St. Agnes Raises $10,000 for Le Bonheur
St. Agnes Academy Upper School choral group, the Starlettes, and the Advanced Vocal Music class raised $10,000 for Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center through the School's third annual St. Agnes Idol competition. Much like American Idol, six talented students competed for the title of St. Agnes Idol. At intermission audience members were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite singer by making a donation for Le Bonheur. All the money raised will be donated to Le Bonheur for the construction of the new children's hospital.
The 2008 St. Agnes Idol winner was freshman Sara Wilkinson who wowed the crowd with her rendition of Somebody to Love. Other St. Agnes Idol contestants were Julia Luscombe, Lauren Hutton, Lauren Crosby, Colleen Mason and Victoria Burge. In attendance at St. Agnes Idol were Mr. and Mrs. Tim Flack and their daughter Madeline. At intermission the family shared with the audience the story of their experience with Le Bonheur. The show concluded with a performance by the St. Agnes a cappella group, Ladies First and a special performance by St. Agnes alumna and previous SAA Idol winner Chelsey Shull.
