Ave Maria Concert and Silent Auction Planned
Ave Maria Foundation's seventh annual concert and silent auction will be held on Sunday, June 1 from noon until 4 p.m., in the Siena Performing Arts Center of St. Agnes Academy, located at 4830 Walnut Grove Road.
The event will include a gourmet luncheon with music by Di Anne Price, a silent auction, and a special concert by Kallen Esperian. A favorite of Memphis audiences and one of opera's most acclaimed lyric sopranos, Esperian has appeared in major opera houses around the world and has sung Il Trovatore in the Metropolitan Opera's New York Parks performances and with Opera Memphis.
Proceeds from this year's silent auction and concert will be used to help fund Ave Maria's Green House® project, an innovative approach to long-term residential care.
Ave Maria will break ground this summer to build four 7,500 square foot Green House homes which will replace its 50-year-old nursing home. Each home will provide private bedrooms and baths for ten residents, a common hearth area, kitchen, and dining room, screened porch, as well as a landscaped garden and patio. Residents will live in community as a family sharing meals, socializing, and participating in activities.
