OLPH Honors Lance Corporal Kyle Cooper

Lance Corporal Kyle Cooper, cousin of OLPH student Joseph Gatti, recently visited Joseph's 4th grade classroom at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School in Germantown.

Corporal Cooper thanked the class for raising money to supply his entire company with comfortable, life-saving, helmet liners while the Marines were stationed in Iraq.

Last year, Joseph's third grade class, led by teacher Eileen DeLoreto, organized bake sales, movie ticket sales, and donations to purchase the helmets.

Corporal Cooper, a Germantown resident, sustained injuries while in Iraq. After spending time with his family, Cooper will return to a stateside duty station and continue physical therapy for his injuries.

OLPH Principal Patricia Wyckoff and DeLoreto were proud to present Corporal Cooper a certificate pronouncing him an OLPH Hero. - - Submitted by Cathy DeGloma, fourth grade teacher at OLPH School.
