Blessed Art Thou Amongst Women

SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION -- The image of the Madonna in the apse mural at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is a copy of the Spanish artist Murillio's original work from the 18th century. This year, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception falls on a Monday. According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the precept to attend Mass on this Solemnity is maintained, even when it falls on a Saturday or Monday. Therefore, Monday, December 8, is a holy day of obligation for the faithful in the United States. (Photo by Mr. C Photography)
